If you’re interested in learning more about Eugene/Springfield, one of the first places to look is http://www.city-data.com/city/Eugene-Oregon.html.  Lots of demographics (though some are from the 2000 census) and charts, a home value estimator (not bad but gives a wide range), even a list of political contributors including name, cause, and amount given!  Dig around in it!

Getting ready to run by a few open houses?  Go to www.dashfly.com and let it organize your route!  Great for better organized home touring, and it’ll help you save gas!

Speaking of saving gas, check out www.walkscore.com.  This site scores any address you enter according to how many establishments are within walking distance.  (Now, it doesn’t rate those establishments, so a house on Hwy. 99 might have as good a walk score as a West Downtown or College Hill house without being a place you want to walk.)

And finally, if you’re renting or considering buying a rental, take a look at www.rentometer.com.  It will tell you how close the rent you’re paying–or contemplating charging–is to the median rent in the neighborhood.  It did a very good job on the couple of places we checked.
